I have already covered the critical topics such as modelling geometry, drafting, and paper specifications, along with some of the topics such as plans, sections and elevations. In this post, I will discuss about the drawing conventions, data import, text, and dimensioning.
The number of drawings (dF) used to depict any particular subject is called the complexity level of that subject. A drawing having complexity level 10 means that it has 10 dF. So, any subject having complexity level of more than 10 dF has more than one drawing. Let’s take an example – a building having complexity level 30. It has 30 dF. So, a drawing that depicts this building will have 30 dF. To help students understand the complexity level of the drawing, I explain the dF in words in this blog post. Now let’s see the convention for drawing dF. In the 2016 CNA Exam, it is mandatory that each dF must have its own page. So, every drawing must be on a different page and you cannot combine two or more drawings on the same page. This is the definition of drawing conventions.
So, all the drawing conventions are the same across all the subjects. Let’s take an example – how will a new drawing will look like in the 2016 CNA Exam?

Referring to FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a silicon substrate; 2 a source region; 3 a drain region; 4 a control gate; 5 a floating gate; and 6 an insulating film. The silicon substrate 1 is covered with the insulating film 6 of a silicon oxide or silicon nitride and the insulating film 6 is then planarized. The source region 2 and drain region 3 are formed in the silicon substrate 1 by impurity diffusion or ion implantation. The floating gate 5 is formed on the insulating film 6 through a silicon oxide film of high reliability. The floating gate 5 is electrically connected to the drain region 3 via a high resistivity area which is produced by the ion implantation of impurities into the source region 2.
In this conventional structure, the distance between the control gate 4 and floating gate 5 is constant regardless of the shape of the cell, and the surface area of the floating gate 5 is determined by the diameter of the high resistivity area (the distance between the source region 2 and drain region 3).
